Public Relations Experience

Public Relations Student Society of America, President

[Spring 2012--Spring 2014]

 

     As the student president of Saint Louis University's chapter of Public Relations Student Society of America, I was able to coordinate and direct all chapter meetings. I was in charge of overseeing all chapter projects including an audit for a St. Louis non-profit and an alumni lecture. I served as the liaison between our chapter and the SLU students and faculty, as well as between the chapter and the St. Louis community.

      Under my leadership of two years, club membership grew from five to 15 members.

Zeta Tau Alpha, Historian-Reporter

[Jan. 2013--Jan. 2014]

 

      As the Historian-Reporter for the Kappa omega chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha I took on the role of both public relations manager and marketer.

      I was the main contact and liaison between the chapter and alumnae, the SLU student body, SLU facutly and staff, the National Fraternity Office and the general public. In order to maintain these healthy and important relationships I created and managed the public Kappa Omega Facebook page, achieving 330 likes in a one year period, managing at least three posts per week. In addition, I managed our Twitter account, raising our followers from 150 to 380, while mainting at least three tweets per week.

     For our philanthropy week, I was in charge of drafting and sending news releases and other public relations materials such as fliers and fundraising emails.

 

 

Work Experience

MSW: Marketing, Intern 

[March 2014--Current]

 

 

    As a public relations intern at MSW: Marketing, I was in charge of posting events to onine calendars, drafting press releases and drafting media pitches to send to local media. Additionally, I made follow up calls to those select media to encourage event attendance.

    I was also able to help manage and create content for a social media campaign for a non-profit client with a large and popular presence in St. Louis.

Student Caller, Annual Giving Programs

[Sept. 2013--Present]

      As a student caller for Saint Louis Unveristy's Annual Giving Programs, I phoned alumni and other constituents (parents, current students and friends of the University) to update/verify demographic information and inform them of campus updates. I was also in charge of securing their support for university development, scholarships and other funds.

      To date as a student caller, I have raised $14,395 with an average give of $145.70.

​       I am proficient with calling software used to phone prospects and document results of calls, as well as handling sensitive and confidential data.
